Stolt-Nielsen buys into major competitor Odfjell in surprise move

Norway’s Stolt-Nielsen has bought up in major competitor Odfjell and now owns 5 percent of the shares. According to ShippingWatch’s information, this is a surprise to Odfjell, which denies the possibility of consolidation.

Apparently, it’s gone under the radar completely that competitor Stolt-Nielsen has bought up shares in Odfjell, with the former company now announcing that it owns 5 percent of the Bergen-based chemical tanker line.
