Hafnia CEO: We may face our best quarter to date

Tanker operator Hafnia faces perhaps its best quarter ever, says CEO Mikael Skov to ShippingWatch, pointing to increased tonne-mile demand and lower oil stockpiles as causes.

Spot rates have soared in product tanker since March, partly because Russia’s invasion of Ukraine has led to major upheavals in the shipping of refined oil products.

The changes currently taking place, with Europe in the process of replacing Russian oil with oil from new suppliers further afield, could be a permanent positive for product tankers, as predicted by Hafnia Chief Executive Mikael Skov in an interview with ShippingWatch.
