Euronav's merging partner Frontline advances in first quarter

Tanker carrier Frontline, set to merge with competing Euronav, books improvements on both top and bottom lines in the year’s first quarter. One reason is the war in Ukraine having led to longer oil transports to Europe, says company CEO.

Like several other tanker companies, Frontline’s results are also up strongly in the first quarter of this year.

This is partly because the war in Ukraine has led to crude oil and refined oil products now being imported into Europe from countries further afield than Russia, according to Frontline’s first quarter accounts, published this morning.
