At an extraordinary general meeting on Friday, Nordic Shipholding has officially passed a voluntary solvent liquidation of the company.
The liquidation is slated for completion in the second half of 2023, writes the company, which as a consequence of the decision has changed its name to ’Nordic Shipholding A/S i likvidation’ [’Nordic Shipholding A/S under liquidation’, -ed.].
At the general meeting, Louise Celia Korpela from Gorrissen Federspiel was chosen as liquidator. The company’s board and management have furthermore resigned due to the liquidation decision.
In relation to the general assembly summoning at the start of December, the message was that no allocation for stakeholders was expected in relation to the liquidation’s completion.
In order to make a solvent liquidation possible, main shareholder Nordic Maritime has decided to cancel the necessary part of its loan to the company.
”It is expected that the aggregate cash balance of Nordic Shipholding A/S and its subsidiaries is sufficient to cover the estimated liquidation expenses and settlement of all creditors other than the main shareholder loan,” read the announcement on Dec. 1.
Any excess funds will be used to repay the shareholder loan, with the main shareholder then canceling any remaining debt.
