Fredriksen now owns nearly as many Euronav shares as the Saverys family

Through subsidiaries, Fredriksen’s shareholding in Euronav has reached nearly 25 percent, almost matching that of the Saverys, who blocked a merger with Frontline. Interesting development, says analyst.

Norwegian-Cypriot shipping magnate John Fredriksen now owns just as much of Euronav as the Belgian Saverys, which blocked a merger of the tanker company with Fredriksen’s Frontline.
