Maersk Tankers acquires major US tanker operator

The Danish tanker shipping company owned by A. P. Møller Holding, has acquired Penfield Marine, which handles 83 crude oil tankers for 32 pool partners. The price is not disclosed.

The new CEO of Maersk Tankers, Tina Revsbech, who took over responsibility for the tanker shipping company in September last year, is embarking on a consolidation in the tanker market and acquiring the US tanker operator Penfield Marine.
