Climate goal could leave a third of fossil fuel carriers idle by 2030

If the climate targets of the Paris Agreement are met, shipping lines carrying fossil fuels could face a loss in value of up to USD 286bn, according to a new study.

Up to 30% of fossil fuel-powered ships could be idle by 2030 if the world meets the targets set in the Paris Agreement, according to a new study from University College London and the Kühne Foundation in Switzerland.
