Avance Gas ready to double fleet

Avance Gas is well underway with efforts implement and speed up its strategy aimed at securing a 40 ship fleet within the next year and a half. Consolidation is necessary, CEO tells ShippingWatch.

Within the next year and a half, Avance Gas - the joint venture between Stolt-Nielsen, Sungas Holdings, and Frontline 2012 - aims to be twice as big as it is today, and the strategy is in the midst of being implemented, CEO Christian Andersen tells ShippingWatch.

"Even though we feel comfortable with the current orderbook, of course the new ships that are being delivered increase the risk of over-contracting, so we'd rather consolidate than increase the capacity in the market."
