If an accord is reached with Iran today concerning the country's nuclear program, it will likely result in millions of dollars in additional profits for the tanker carriers, according to the shipowners' association.

Today is the last call for Iran and the six superpowers, the US, China, Russia, the UK, France and Germany, to agree on a nuclear accord for Iran. If the deal is settled, it would give tanker carriers a major opportunity to enter the market for Iranian oil exports, says the Danish Shipowners' Association in an analysis, according to Danish news media dr.dk.

"The combined stands at around USD 22.5 million annually for Danish carriers," says Jakob Ullegård, director of politics and analysis at the Danish Shipowners' Association.
