Investors have turned their back on shipping

Even a strong tanker market is finding it hard to attract investors. "The crisis in dry bulk and container is contagious," says senior analyst Stig Frederiksen from Nordea Bank, pointing to several similar traits.

Given the strongest rates and the most promising tanker market for years, it would seem like almost a formality for tanker carriers like BW Pacific and Hafnia Tankers to raise additional capital by listing on the Oslo and New York stock exchanges before the end of 2015.
