Torm is ordering new ships for the first time in seven years.
The carrier informs in a statement on Monday that it has signed a contract with China's Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) for four fuel efficient LR2 newbuildings set for delivery in the period from the fourth quarter 2017 and the second quarter 2018. The deal includes an option for six additional LR2, LR1 or MR vessels, with potential delivery scheduled for 2018 and 2019.
