New Norwegian oil tanker carrier ready for launch

Newly launched Viken Crude will have engine entrepreneur Frederik W. Mohn and tanker carrier Viken Shipping as owners, and the fleet will consist of exiting vessels plus newbuildings set for delivery in 2017 and 2018.

Two renowned Norwegian business profiles are now joining forces to launch a new tanker carrier, reports media Sysla.

The two men are Frederik W. Mohn, third-generation of engine family Mohn, whose engine factory was acquired by Alfa Laval for USD 1.46 billion, and Tom Christian Steckmest, who owns oil tanker carrier Viken Shipping. The two business men will each contribute 50 percent of the investment in Viken Crude, which aims to unite "local strengths" in a long-term shipping investment.
