Teekay Tankers suffers big Q2 deficit

The Teekay group's listed tanker carrier lost USD 37.5 million in the second quarter. The sizeable loss is mainly attributed to weak rates and an impairment following a recent merger.

Listed Teekay Tankers on Thursday published a net deficit of USD 37.5 million for the second quarter. In the interim report, the carrier attributes the significant loss to lower spot rates and a reduced fleet size.
