Scorpio Tankers booked major deficit in the first half

Following the announced merger with Navig8, Scorpio Tankers delayed its interim report, published instead today, Monday, and which shows a deficit for the first six months. The numbers further underline the strain on the product tanker sector.

Scorpio Tankers booked a deficit of USD 79.8 million for the first six months of this year compared with a USD 31.9 million profit in the same period of 2016, according to the second quarter interim report from the carrier, which was published Monday after being postponed due to the merger with Navig8, which was announced in the early summer this year.
