Nordic countries looking to take the lead in autonomous vessels

Denmark's Minister for Business and Growth affirms to ShippingWatch that the country will be a leading player in the field of autonomous vessels despite numerous challenges. He responds "soon" when asked when the first such vessels can operate in Danish waters.

Danish Minister for Business and Growth, Brian Mikkelsen, sees major potential in autonomous shipping, and he is prepared to review legislation and update it to accommodate developments in the field. His ambition is for Denmark to be on the absolute forefront of this area where other Nordic countries like Finland and Norway are similarly highly active in terms of autonomous projects.
