Maersk and IBM's new partnership met with interest in the industry

MSC is supportive of the concept behind Maersk and IBM's new collaboration. Also Hapag-Lloyd and a wide range of important clients are considering using the new digital platform.

Maersk and IBM's joint venture has made a good start. Customers welcome the blockchain-based platform, that was presented last week, and several competing firms are not dismissive of joining, according to Danish media Berlingske.

"MSC supports a standardized approach to a wide range of technological initiatives within the shipping and logistics industry because ultimately, it is beneficial for our customers. As we are part of the 2M vessel-sharing alliance with Maersk Line, we are of course well aware of the project you refer to," says Giles Broom, Global PR Manager in the Swiss container shipping line, that is the world's second largest after Maersk Line.
