Maersk is expected to take delivery of its first newbuilding, Vistula Maersk, a few days days from now in a series of at least seven feeder vessels from the China's Cosco yard.

According to Alphaliner, the vessels with capacity of almost 3,600 teu each will be the largest custom-built ships for the specific purpose when they are deployed on services between North European ports and the Baltic. They have the potential to radically change the dynamic on these feeder services.
