Seatrade senior execs could face prison for illegal scrapping

A prosecutor in Rotterdam calls for prison sentences for three senior executives at reefer carrier Seatrade for scrapping vessels with dangerous substances on board at beaching facilities.

A public prosecutor in the Netherlands has in a Rotterdam court called for prison sentences of up to six months for three senior executives employed by reefer carrier Seatrade for scrapping four ships on the beaches in Alang in India as well as in Bangladesh and Turkey.
