Maersk Tankers kicks off newbuild program with six new vessels

Maersk Tankers has launched its newbuilding program and has thus ordered six ships to be delivered from 2020. Current markets make the investment "attractive."

Maersk Tankers has begun its newbuilding program, according to a press release from the tanker carrier.

The board has just approved an order for six LR2 newbuilds which are part of a contract between the carrier and Dalian Shipyard in China for a total of ten vessels.
