Sweden will fine sulfur violators upwards of SEK 1 million

The Swedish government has, after years of preparatory work, now settled on the size of fines for shipping companies that violate the sulfur directive in Swedish waters.

Violating the sulfur directive in Swedish waters can now cost upwards of SEK 1 million (USD 114,260), depending on engine size and sulfur content in fuel.
