ICS calls on EU member states to react to migrant case

The ICS is worried about Italy's unwillingness to accept migrants rescued at sea. It is important that EU member states handle the issue right away, says Secretary General Peter Hinchliffe.

Italy's refusal to receive the ship Aquarius carrying migrants rescued at sea – which wound up debarking in Spain – is very worrisome, says the International Chamber of Shipping, ICS, stressing that Italy violated the rules set out by the UN High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR).
