Bimco: Shipowners must take their own precautions for bad bunker

There is no doubt that it is the bunker suppliers' responsibility when shipowners end up with bad bunker in their tanks, says Bimco. But the shipowners need to take more precautions, notes the association.

Shipowners need to take their share of responsibility in the cases concerning bad bunker, says Bimco, one of the world's largest shipping associations, after months news stories emerging about shipping companies who have had their engines ruined and have experienced operating problems after tanking bad bunker.
