Top negotiator doubts EU's trade deal with Mercosur

The EU's trade talks with four South American countries has reportedly run into problems in Montevideo. Uruguay's foreign minister, Rodolfo Nin Novoa, is skeptical about the pending deal according to media El Observador.

Trade agreement negotiations between the EU and the Southern Common Market, Mercosur, hosted in Montevideo, Uruguay has reportedly run into problems. Interested parties had hoped a deal could be reached, but 2019 is now being named as more realistic time frame.

When asked by the national media El Observador to comment on the reason behind the drawn-out negotiations, Uruguay's foreign minister, Rodolfo Nin Novoa answers:
