Boskalis to sail on biofuel on offshore project

The Dutch company will sail on biofuel while working on a wind farm. More projects with biofuel are underway, and with time the fuel will represent a way of reducing the carrier's environmental footprint.

Dredging and marine group Boskalis will sail on a biofuel blend when installing an export cable on wind farm Borssele, the company writes in a press release.

The use of biofuel is part of Boskalis' environmental program "Boskalis on bio", where the Dutch company has most recently entered a partnership with Goodfuels, a supplier of biofuel. The goal with the program is to reduce CO2 emissions from Boskalis' fleet by 35 percent within five years.
