Euronav hit by bad bunker: "Somebody had dumped a waste material into the fuel"

Several vessels in Euronav's pool have taken bad bunker on board. Waste material from the forestry industry or a cleaning product could have been dumped in the oil, says CEO Paddy Rogers, who blames bunker companies for the spread of bad bunker.

Leading tanker carrier Euronav has entered the debate on bad bunker oil which has plagued key ports since the spring.

At a teleconference in connection with the carriers' quarterly report Tuesday last week, CEO Paddy Rodgers discussed how several vessels within the TI Pool operated by Euronav with three other carriers has been hit by the contaminated fuel.
