Climate action plan at top of IMO chief's agenda for new term

Kitack Lim has been granted four more years to lead the IMO, which he will spend on putting together an action plan for the IMO's role ahead of 2050, the deadline for shipping's efforts to cut its greenhouse gas emissions in half.

IMO general secretary Kitack Lim's top priority in his new term, starting in 2019m will be to settle an action plan setting out the IMO's contribution to the UN 2050 climate targets, he says in an interview with Yonhap.
