Shipping companies' climate strategy worries environmental organization

Only three of the world's biggest listed shipping companies have strategies that could in earnest make landmark impacts on greenhouse gas emissions, assesses environmental organization. See how well-prepared the 18 biggest listed companies are for climate change mitigation.

The majority of listed shipping companies are not investing enough in technology that can reduce their greenhouse gas emissions. This creates a risk that the shipping sector might not meet its own target of halving emissions by 2050, according to environmental organization CDP, which today, Tuesday, published a new report titled "A Sea Change".
