Romanian Rovana Plumb's candidature for the position as the EU Commission's new transport commissioner has been denied by the EU Parliament's legal committee, according to Reuters and Danish broadcaster DR.

The legal committee finds that the nomination of Plumb entails a conflict of interest, which makes her unfit as commissioner for transport, including the shipping sector.
