Car thief gained access to Maersk Tankers' board summary

During a car theft in August last year, a thief came in possession of Maersk Tankers' board meeting summary as well as the General Counsel's work computer. Worst case, the information can be abused for illegal purposes, warns the shipping company, but emphasizes that no evidence of abuse has been found.

Leaving your things in your car may have consequences, as Maersk Tankers' general counsel, Anette Ryde, found out last year.

In August 2018, Ryde had her work computer, personal iPad and internal Maersk Tankers material, including a summary of June's board meeting, stolen from her car, reports ShippingWatch based on a right of access to Maersk Tankers' report to the Danish Data Protection Agency.
