Finnlines CEO is ready to buy – but acquisition candidates resist

RoRo operator Finnlines, which is owned by the Grimaldi group, plans to grow through acquisitions. But these ambitions are met with resistance, as many smaller shipping companies are too protectionist and afraid of letting themselves be bought, CEO Emanuele Grimaldi tells ShippingWatch.

The ambitions are set and the cash is ready at hand, but Finnish RoRo ship operator Finnlines is still struggling to convince its acquisition targets to let themselves be taken over by the Grimaldi-owned shipping company, says Emanuele Grimaldi, CEO of Finnlines as well as Grimaldi Group, in an interview with ShippingWatch.
