Female leaders: Stop talking about gender – we are already moving in the right direction

ShippingWatch sent a male reporter to Copenhagen Business School to talk with female executives about gender. The first thing he did was to put his foot in his mouth – because if we are to talk about equality, we also need to talk about the men.

If you wish to see a textbook example of putting your foot in your mouth, then you should ask a room full of female participants at the CBS maritime executive leadership program, Blue MBA, what it is like to be a woman in shipping.

First, everything seems to go quiet. A few seem to shrug slightly – the kind of shrug that one only notices in hindsight. For a moment it seemed like someone rolled their eyes at the reporter who posed the question.
