Creditors call for a new trustee in Stadil family's shipping bankruptcies

Several creditors want to leading law firms appointed as trustees of the Stadil family's bankrupt shipping companies. Thor Stadil resisted the motion at a meeting of creditors Monday, accusing the lawyers of being lackeys.

A group of creditors calls for a new trustee to oversee the bankruptcy of several shipping companies owned by the Stadil family, as they have lost faith in the current lawyer handling the estates.

The creditors are represented by two of Denmark's leading law firms, Bech-Bruun and Kromann Reumert, and they include a series of Japanese leasing companies and ship managers.
