Anders Hjarsø missed a funeral when the crew on Vuoksi Mærsk got stranded

Chef Anders Hjarsø found himself busy taking care of the 25 crew members on board container ship Vuoksi Mærsk, when it was not possible to change the crew for months. Meanwhile, his aunt passed away, and he was unable to make it home for the funeral. This article is the first in the series "Trapped by corona."

Anders Hjarsø returned home from the sea in late April.

Here he had, like hundreds of thousands of seafarers across the globe, been on board the ship for almost four months. In the latter part of the stay, he did not know when he would actually get back home.
