The coronavirus has had large human and economic costs for crews and companies, and seafarers have probably suffered the most. Captain Debie Morera explains what happens when extraordinary precautions become the new normal onboard.

"The situation is the same as when the pandemic started," says Captain Debie Morera painting a gloomy picture of life at sea and how seafarers still have to be very careful and take many precautions to ensure that the virus stays ashore.

In that respect, working on board a vessel has not changed a lot in the seven months since ShippingWatch first talked with Debie Morera on one of tanker company Norden's product tankers.
