Odfjell raises millions of dollars through sustainable bonds

Norwegian chemical tanker carrier Odfjell has just succeeded in issuing a new bond totaling USD 100 million for the company. The bond is conditioned on the shipping company complying with its sustainability targets.

Norway's Odfjell has just completed what the company itself calls a sustainability-linked bond.

The bond issuance raises NOK 850 million (USD 100 million) set to mature on Jan. 21 2025. According to Odfjell, the bond is the first issued under a new sustainability-linked finance framework and is linked to the shipping company's plans for optimizing its fleet and lowered its CO2 emissions.
