Svitzer's plans for remote controlled vessel enter next stage

Maersk-owned Svitzer has spent the last couple of years testing a remote controlled tugboat in the Port of Copenhagen. The work now enters a new stage, with a target for having the first ship in commercial operations. Several decisive things need to fall into place in order to realize the plans, COO tells ShippingWatch.

Tugboat operator Svitzer now boosts efforts to get its first remote controlled ship in commercial operation, which will be controlled from land and which will become part of the shipping company's daily operations.
