Container line Hapag-Lloyd is trying to mitigate the current market-wide shortage of containers and thus places one of its biggest-ever orders for new containers.

Congestion is putting a strain on global supply chains at the moment and one of the dominant problems appears to be a shortage of empty containers to load onto ships. This development now has container line Hapag-Lloyd placing one of its biggest orders ever for new containers.
