Renowned Belgian shipping family calls for crazy people to decarbonize shipping

Less talk and more action is what is needed in the green transition of shipping. To do so requires some "crazy people," says CMB chief exec Alexander Saverys of the renowned Belgian shipping family. "There is no longer an excuse," he tells ShippingWatch.

For the shipping industry to take firm and immediate action in the green transition, "crazy people" are needed.

Such was the statement from Alexander Saverys, CEO of the Belgian shipping group CMB, which is controlled by the Saverys family. His statement came during this year's Global Maritime Forum Summit upon being asked what action is needed to make shipping more green right now.
