Viking Supply Ships cancels Russia contract after months of uncertainty

Shortly after offshore carrier Viking Supply Ships had secured a contract in Russia, the war in Ukraine started, putting the contract up for review. Now Viking annuls the contract, according to interim report.

Offshore carrier Viking Supply Ships has canceled a large contract with a Russian customer.

The company had secured the contract only a few weeks before Russia commenced its invasion of Ukraine, and it pertained to four ice-class anchor handling tug supply (AHTS) vessels. But on Feb. 25, the day after the invasion began, the company already announced that the contract was up for review.
