Insurance bill for Ever Given could exceed USD 2bn

Ever Given’s world-famous grounding last year in the Suez Canal created big problems for supply chains. The consolidated insurance bill could surpass USD 2bn, says French reinsurer.

The total bill for insurance companies in connection with container ship Ever Given’s grounding last year in the Suez Canal could end up being more than USD 2bn, writes French reinsurer SCOR in a thorough report on lessons learned by the six-day blockage that resulted in supply chain delays several months long.
