CMA CGM cements top-three position with purchase of container ships

French CMA CGM has made big investments in container ships in the last two years. The acquisitions have consolidated the carrier’s position as number three on the list of the world’s biggest container carriers.

CMA CGM continues its hunt for second-hand container vessels. The major French carrier has just acquired an additional four of the kind, writes analyst firm Alphaliner, adding up to a total of 80 purchases since August 2020.
