Maersk's enormous profit hollows out public income growth this year

Few employees in shipping and lenient taxation of carriers such as Maersk provide small tax income from the shipping industry despite historic profits, limiting growth in state income in spite of increasing GDP, write the Danish Economic Councils.

Carriers’ gigantic profits this year are so huge that they hollow out state income in 2022, as shipping only to a limited degree contributes to state coffers in the form of tax payments.
