Embargo on Russian oil will force tanker operators to pick sides

The EU’s upcoming oil embargo against Russia will make it harder to transport Russian oil legally, according to broker firm Gibson. More than half of tankers carrying oil from the country today are expected to abandon the trade.

More than half of tanker vessels currently transporting Russian crude oil will halt these operations when the European Union’s import ban becomes effective from the start of December.
