Authorities approve DFDS' acquisition of Irish transport group
Danish ferry and logistics operator DFDS has been given a stamp of approval by competition authorities regarding the acquisition of Irish McBurney Transport Group, according to a brief statement.
DFDS announced the GBP 138m takeover shortly before the turn of the year.
McBurney specializes in trailer-based transportation of reefer and dry cargo goods on roads and ferries between Ireland and the UK.
The company had revenue of approx. DKK 1.3bn (GBP 154m) in 2022 and employs 800 personnel.
