US importers increasingly steer clear of West Coast ports

Whereas imports to major ports on the US West Coast are declining, activity is increasing at East Coast ports. Fear of a strike on the West Coast plays a part, according to analytics firm.

US companies are reluctant to use the large ports on the country’s West Coast such as Los Angeles and Long Beach when importing goods from abroad.
