Union: Authorities should be able to dismiss seafarers in cases of violations

CO-Søfart proposes that the Danish Maritime Authority should be able to withdraw the certificate of competency from ship masters if they are found guilty of harassment, bullying or abuse.

If a master on a Danish-flagged merchant ship does not intervene in cases of harassment, bullying or abuse, then the person should be able to be removed from the order, according to CO-Søfart, Denmark’s largest maritime trade union.
