Avance Gas CEO predicts more forced re-routing as Panama problems continue

The large gas carriers are not prioritized in the drought-stricken canal, which causes a large numbers of vessels to reroute. This will continue onwards, assesses the CEO.

The number of VLGCs being rerouted to avoid the queue to transit through the Panama Canal has increased by a lot since this summer, reports Øystein Kalleklev, CEO of Norwegian shipping company Avance Gas, from the company’s investor call Tuesday afternoon.
