Local markets shrinking for Germany's biggest broker

Germany's biggest shipbroker Frachtcontor Junge & Co. is concerned about the developments of freight volumes in Europe. The company has traditionally made a living from the German heavy industry, but now it has to look for new markets.


As one of Germany's oldest and largest shipbroker companies, Frachtcontor Junge & Co. is also being hit hard by the German shipping crisis. Even though the brokerage firm isn't exposed to the KG funds, there's no doubt that the downturn of the German shipping industry can be felt at the offices, says managing director Jens Christian Nielsen to ShippingWatch.
