Maersk among the world’s most profitable companies

The Maersk Group is the only Danish company on Fortune’s list of the 500 most profitable companies in the world, writes dr.dk.

This year, a single Danish company made the American magazine Fortune’s so-called Fortune 500 list. The Maersk Group is listed as the 157th most profitable company with a surplus of 3.7 billion dollars for 2012, writes dr.dk.

Among Denmark’s neighboring countries, the Norwegian company Statoil lists as number 39 with a surplus of 11.8 billion dollars. By contrast, Sweden has three companies on the list, Volvo L.M., Ericsson, and Vattenfall, which are placed at numbers 227, 333, and 473 respectively.
