US container import in July highest in six years
Americans are getting ready for the holiday season, which gave a significant boost to the country's container import in July, according to American analysts Zepol. July beat the previous record from 2007. Maersk Line benefits from the development.

July and August are traditionally busy months for US container imports, as the country gears up for the holiday season. But this July was extra busy, and volumes reached the highest monthly level since July 2007, writes American analysts Zepol. The United States imported a total of 1.69 million teu, 13 percent more than last month and two percent more than July last year.
